Terry Miller recently joined Green Building Services as a Project Consultant after working for three years as the Coordinator of the City of Portland Offi ce of Sustainable Development’s green building program. Terry’s work with the City focused on green building program and policy development, education, partnerships and management of the City’s Green Investment Fund. He successfully forged and fostered strategic partnerships with other agencies and organizations to promote green building in Portland. Examples include green building training with the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland; development and management of a green building economic development opportunity study with the Portland Development Commission; and, passage of a Memorandum of Understanding with the City’s Bureau of Development Services to promote green building in the City’s building and zoning codes and development review process. In 2005, Terry delivered documents and recommendations to increase the breadth and rigor of the City’s green building policy that were unanimously supported by City Council. In addition, Terry secured financial sponsorship of G/Rated to support program activities.
